Eclipse 24 at Petit Jean State Park
First Contact
One of the first photos, taken right after first contact. I have about 350 images, I’m going to upload them all when I can find a way to do it in a way that displays them effectively.
Changed Shutter speed
I don’t remember what I changed to or from, just changed to see what I would get.
About halfway to totality
Changed shutter speeds again. I’m guessing when the images get darker, I changed to a faster shutter speed.
My website will be used (mostly) for Astronomy stuff.
Bennie
He hasn’t closed his mouth for very long, ever since this pic at the hospital.
Ernie
His first Christmas Tree.
Also known as ‘Vern’,
‘Ernest’, ‘Boss’, and ‘Bam-Bam’.
The Boys are back in town
and taking over the hockey rink….Myself, ‘Wildman’, Mark, and James. Me & James got in trouble together a few times.
Just Prior to Totality.
I’m fairly sure this is the last image taken prior to Totality.
First Photo after Totality
I don’t think I changed any settings between this shot and the last, but can’t remember for sure.
Final Photo
I thought that I had taken more post-totality shots,
but maybe not. This seems to be as totality was ending.
About eclipse24
Camera
A Canon EOS Rebel, don’t have the exact nomenclature with me.
Telescope
A 14 inch Meade. I’ve never been able to use it, I bought it used and didn’t know the drive was hosed up. Probably could have repaired it myself but happy to have found someone with expertise to do it. I finally have a place to use it, I’ll build a small observatory to house it.
Personal
I take classes at GSU, not really looking for another undergraduate degree. After I complete the courses required for admission to graduate school in Physics/Astronomy, I’ll apply for the masters program. Got a ways to go yet, but no hurry anyway.
AAVSO
The American Association of Variable Star Observers.
I joined recently, it looks like this is a good way to get started in Spectroscopy.
Eventually, and hopefully more sooner than later, I will start posting Astronomical images here
Charlie Elliott Chapter of The Atlanta Astronomy Club
If you are interested in a great astronomy club, google these guys. They meet once a month at at a State Park east of Atlanta.
